Dui Attorneys If I’m arrested for a DUI in a certain county, should I get an attorney located within that county?
Or if I hire an attorney in my area will he/she charge more for whatever travel time they may have to do… I’m afraid the local attorneys will be in cahoots with the local judge and law enforcement.
The local attorney will usually know how the prosecution and the courts handle situations just like yours. If the attorney has been practicing some time, they have had similar situations come up, and their expertise in how those are handled by the courts where your case is in is valuable. Often, when even a high profile lawyer from another jurisdiction comes in on the case, there is still an advantage of having someone that knows the courts procedures well, that outweighs the expertise of the out of town lawyer, with some exceptions.
And, as you mentioned, you will definitely be paying more for the out of town attorney, as that attorney will not only invest more time in things like travel/driving, but will also not have economy of scale of having other cases to handle in that court.

Assuming you are in the US…I see you have not yet been to law school. Know that after you graduate law school and then pass the State’s Bar Exam, then you can start looking for a job as a criminal lawyer.
As to where you would work…that depends on whether you want to prosecute criminals, or defend criminals.
Lawyers who prosecute criminals work for the District Attorney’s Office.
There are a couple of different places where defense attorneys could come from. One is by working for the Public Defender’s office…these are the attorneys who are assigned to criminal defendents who cannot afford an attorney on their own. Another place is to work in a private “firm” – this is a group of attorneys who decide they want to form their own company. Or you can just run your own private law firm yourself, being your own boss.

Drunk Driving Attorneys How can i sue the guys i hit while drunk driving?
I admit it, i had a few in me. It was late and i was driving through a busy intersection and i really needed to go to the bathroom when i saw a road work ahead sign. I decided not to sit in traffic with all the other jerks, floored it, and went around the long line of cars. Right at the end of the work zone i ended up running down 2 of the workers who are in the hospital but okay. I was drunk and could not help laughing at the sight of them flying through the air. Here is where it gets interesting. These thug co-workers drag me out of the car, see all the empty beer bottles on the floor, and rough me up pretty good. My question is, on what grounds to i sue these jerks for beating me up? I can’t find an attorney that will take my case.
