I was coming home from drill and had an exam the next day. My unit is 2 hours away. I just recently got pulled over for doing 110mph on a 55mph on I-65 Indiana, Clark County. First of all I was about to get to the 70mph zone of I-65. I got a ticket for reckless driving and have to appear in court. Should I hire a lawyer? What will likely be the consequence? Should I plea guilty to speeding, but not reckless driving? I haven’t had a ticket in 2 years, but prior to that 2 years have had tickets. I’m 23 btw. I will happilly take a hefty fine, community service, and driving school. I know I was wrong. Just trying to see the best way to go with this without having a misdemeanor that will ruin my future. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
You’re an a@@hole for driving like that and I hope the only harm that results from driving that fast ruins YOUR life and nobody else’s. You probably think I’m a big jerk for saying that, but dude….what you did was extremely stupid/dangerous and to hear you say “First of all I was about to get to the 70mph zone of I-65″ tells me that
a) You think that the fact that the speed limit was about to go up when you were caught makes driving 110mph in a 55 zone somehow “not really THAT bad”
…which is an arrogant and erroneous argument to make…and
b) it also tells me that you really don’t understand just how stupid what you did actually was.
All in all, you sound very immature. To answer your question though, YES you should hire an attorney.
