Georgia Dui Laws

What does probation for DUI consist of?
My sister-in-law was recently sentenced to 12 months probation in Georgia for a DUI guilty plea. She is concerned as to what type of probation to expect.Supervised or unsupervised. Also she had smoked marijuana but stopped about two months ago. Will she be drug tested when she reports to her probation officer next week. Thanks in advance for any advice.
At court when they sentenced her to 1 year of probation that is the moment where they tell you whether it is formal (supervised) or summary (unsupervised) probation, so she should already know if she was already sentenced. The terms of probation for DUI can vary. Typically it would consist of not to drive because most likely her license will be suspended (some judges may allow you to drive to and from work), no breaking any laws, some judges may order the person to take classes, community service and pay fines on time. She should abstain from any drugs because that would be a violation of probation. It would be wise to stay away from alcohol too, it might even be part of the probation terms.
