If the Army rejected me cause of Misdemeanors Battery and DUI which branch will take me now?
I want to a pasadena, california recrutiers office and made an attempt to enlist but because of my Battery DV and Dui both misdemeanors which are more than 3 years ago and closed and soon going to be expunged but the recruiter said i was very unlikely to join. So he told me to try the National Guard cause they are State and Federally regulated. Whats my best option for joining the Military. I want to serve my country by more than just passively paying taxes and following all the laws. All advice is welcomed. And if all avenues are exhausted then I guess is the Peace Corp.
Thanks for the info and reading through most of the material on the internet and on yahoo answers it sounds like my 2 options are to find better recruiter and if that doesnt work in state find an out of state recruiter in absolutly needed. I mean how is it people with manslaughter, bomb threats and other such felonys get in but me with 2 misdemeanors cant even get my foot in the door?
with a DV you are BARRED form ALL five Branches, Including Guard and Reserves. Period, end of subject., Do not pass Go do Not collect $200.
No such thing as expunged in the military. and they do not consider either charge to be misdemeanors.
and it won’t t matter if you go to another recruiter or even another state. answer will still be the same. a DV charge means you are covered under the Lautenburg Act and can not carry a weapon.
